On to another awesome news! I AM SO GOING TO BE THERE, along with all the other screaming fans! Oh I just can't wait! ION Orchard, prepare for meltdown! Boys Over Flowers, Lee Min Ho AND SS501 all in ONE year?!!!! This is such a complete turn-around! Woohoo! Alhamdulillah, my prayers for a better part of the year must've been answered. Thank you, God. You truly are Almighty.

Popular entertainer, Lee Min-ho, is set to head to Singapore to attend a store opening ceremony and host a fan meeting sometime in October.

Lee Min-ho (who is currently a model for the cosmetic brand) will be making the trip in order to attend the opening ceremony for the Etude House’s second outlet at Ion Orchard, which officially opened its doors on September 9th. Min-ho will also hold a fan meeting sometime during his two day, one night stay. All that is known so far is that the actor is expected to arrive in Singapore on October 10th. Details about the fan meeting (including time and date of the event) have yet to be announced.

In other Min-ho news, the singer has recently been named an ambassador for the UNICEF Love Net campaign geared toward helping end the spread of malaria in Africa. Glad to see that Min-ho’s using his current popularity to help those in need…and not just to sell beer.

Even though SS501’s leader Kim HyunJoong is down with H1N1 influenza after his activity in Japan and wasn’t able to return to Korea, Kim HyungJoon said reassuring their fans “We are absolutely fine. We will be resuming our activities very soon.”

Kim HyungJoon attended the press conference of environmental variety program ‘Find it! Green Gold’ on 10-Sep morning at SBS building in Mokdong, YangChun-gu, Seoul, as the MC of this program, and talked about H1N1 influenza which the fans have been worrying about.



Kim HyungJoon explained “We are absolutely fine now. I was really surprised when I heard of the news that HyunJoong hyung was infected with H1N1 influenza. I knew that HyunJoong hyung could not return from Japan because of H1N1 influenza though news reports. Even though we didn’t talk (over the phone) to each other, I heard he is getting better in health. His condition is getting much better and seems that he will be able to resume his activities within 2 weeks’ time.”

Meanwhile, Kim HyungJoon will be the MC for an environmental variety program together with ShinDong, Brian and JoKwon. Kim HyungJoon’s participation of ‘Find it! Green Gold’ will premiere on 14-Sep at 6.25pm.

SEOUL : Kim Hyun Joong of popular South Korean boyband SS501 has been diagnosed with the H1N1 flu virus and is currently hospitalised in Tokyo, said his agency.

The “Boys Over Flowers” star who was in Japan to promote the hit drama series over the weekend, was down with a fever and a headache, and was forced to miss promotional activities on Sunday.

According to a statement by agency DSP Media, Kim was scheduled for a noon flight back to South Korea on Monday and had made it through immigration without any problems. But the singer was later taken to the emergency room when his health took a turn for the worse.

The 23-year-old was diagnosed with Influenza A (H1N1) and will remain in Japan for further observation.

Kim’s agent said other band members are well and will continue working on a new album which will be released in Japan.

[SS501’s Concert Tour]

Just like the boys from SM Entertainment, the 5-member boy group from DSP Entertainment, SS501 will also be embarking on their 1st concert tour in Asia called Persona. After the release of their 2nd full-length album at the end of July, the boys will begin the first leg of their concert tour in Seoul on 1st August. From there, they will be flying to Japan, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Thailand, etc for their concert tour until the end of the year.

Through their first Asia concert, the boys will shed their pretty boys image to show their dynamic and various different images. They will show themselves on the stage as real true musicians.

After releasing their official 2nd album in July, SS501 will be performing in 10 cities, starting from Seoul, they will move on to Japan, Taiwan, HongKon, Thailand, China, Malaysia and Singapore etc.

Their Japan Budokan performance will take place on 13th August.

DSPent representative said on 05-Jun “Though the members have went into activities in Japan, this would be the first time that they will perform in other Asia countries. We will increase the countries to include Shanghai China and others, and we are also considering an encore concert in January next year. Performances in Australia and Las Vegas USA are still under discussion and nothing has been confirmed yet.”

Their aim is not to neglect their activities in Korea while having activities overseas. The collection album which consists of the members’ solo songs will be released, one after another, online on 18-Jun. Starting with Heo YoungSaeng and Kim KyuJong, then Kim HyungJoon and Park JungMin, following by Kim HyunJoong’s solo will be released and they have finished filming their drama-styled music video. One member will be having activities with his solo song.

Their representative added “Currently, SS501’s recognition is rising in other Asia regions, popularity from Kim HyunJoong acting in drama ‘Boys Over Flowers’ also adds on to their recognition, we are looking forward to SS501 getting into an even higher position through their activities locally this year.”

Even from this month alone, SS501 will be flying out to many of the above-mentioned countries for promotions. From 8th June onwards, SS501 are scheduled to make appearances in Thailand, Taiwan, Hong Kong, etc to promote their concert tour and give the fans a sneak peek at them in person first. Although SS501 have been pretty active in Japan all this while, this will be their first concert tour in Asia. It’s believed that discussions are underway for additional dates for their concert tour early next year. Possible destinations in 2010 include America and Australia.

From 18th June, solo songs by the SS501 members (included in their new album) will be released simultaneously to fans ahead of their 2nd album release. Heo Young Saeng and Kim Kyu Jong’s solos will be out first, followed by the other 3 members. The members have also recorded a special music video for this.

A DSP Entertainment representative expressed, “More and more people are getting to know about SS501 in Korea and Asia. Kim Hyun Joong’s popularity levels have also risen thanks to his Boys Before Flowers role. We are confident that this Asia Tour will help in increasing the popularity levels and status of SS501 even further.”
