[isaiah washington won't hesitate to do GA cameo]

2007-06-16 18:08:14 - Sacked GREY'S ANATOMY star ISAIAH WASHINGTON will return to the hit medical drama - if writer/creator SHONDA RIMES asks him. The actor admits he's bitter about his departure from the show, but he'll jump at the chance to return for a cameo. He tells American magazine Entertainment Weekly, "Dr. Burke (his character) is probably the greatest challenge I've ever had. I've studied the medical world extensively. I gave it everything I had. "If Shonda calls me and says, 'Look, we want you to do something for Grey's Anatomy,' I probably would not hesitate. "But I don't really see that happening."
Good God if Shonda really asks him, he would consider???!!!! This is amazing news. I know I'm like freaking late in knowing this but this news really made my day. Come on Shonda. Please ask him to come back. Do 1 episode at least. A recurring role would be brilliant though. Haha. He really did apologize so many times. Even going as far as to rehabilitate himself. He knows he was wrong. Please give him another chance!
In response to mounting pressure and an earlier statement released by ABC, Grey's Anatomy star, Isaiah Washington has formally issued an apology following his remarks after the Golden Globes.
“I apologize to T.R., my colleagues, the fans of the show and especially the lesbian and gay community for using a word that is unacceptable in any context or circumstance. By repeating the word Monday night, I marred what should have been a perfect night for everyone who works on Grey’s Anatomy. I can neither defend nor explain my behavior. I can also no longer deny to myself that there are issues I obviously need to examine within my own soul, and I've asked for help.
I know the power of words, especially those that demean. I realize that by using one filled with disrespect I have hurt more than T.R. and my colleagues. With one word, I’ve hurt everyone who has struggled for the respect so many of us take for granted. I welcome the chance to meet with leaders of the gay and lesbian community to apologize in person and to talk about what I can do to heal the wounds I’ve opened.
T.R.’s courage throughout this entire episode speaks to his tremendous character. I hold his talent, and T.R. as a person, in high esteem. I know a mere apology will not end this, and I intend to let my future actions prove my sincerity.”
ABC brass had released a statement earlier this afternoon saying that they were “dismayed” by comments the 43-year-old Grey’s Anatomy star made at the Golden Globe Awards press conference on Monday night and that the issue was "being addressed" .
Washington was caught on tape using the word "faggot" in response to a reporter's question about the same homophobic slur he reportedly made towards costar T.R. Knight on the set of Grey’s last October.
"I did not call T.R. a faggot," he told reporters in the pressroom on Monday. "Never happened, never happened."
That being said, whats the real story anyways?! Isaiah and Patrick were having an argument and although some reports say that T.R wasn't there, T.R told Ellen that he was there. Even if Isaiah said the word "faggot", its supposedly between Patrick and him right?! It doesn't mean that just because T.R is gay, he should think that everytime a person mentions "faggot", it refers to him. But then again, there are reports that state Isaiah really did refer to T.R. Maybe he only meant it as "weak" and not a degredatory slur. Either way, Isaiah already apologized so many times. I'd guess the reason why he keeps messing up his answers is because people just can't seem to get over it. They keep asking and asking and asking. He was having an argument with Patrick and not T.R. That is why he denies calling T.R. a "faggot". And I believe he only apologized because he was forced to and because its the right thing to do eventhough he knows he didn't do anything wrong. That is why he keeps messing up his stupid interviews. Jeez people get over it already. There are risks in being a human. If you're chinese you could be called "chinky", if you're from hong kong, you could be called "hongkies", if you're black you could be called "nigger". And we all know that Muslims nowadays are being accused of being terrorists! What do we do about that? We suck it up and continue on. Because we know, not all of us are like that. Because we know, we are better than you for not retaliating. Being called a "faggot" comes with the confession. You gotta accept that not everyone is going to readily embrace you. I'm just saying everyone needs a second, and a third chance.
